#WCW Mermaid at Heart, Mija Maslar

Her spunky personality, natural leadership qualities, and adorable dimples truly makes this blonde bombshell one of a kind. Born in Croatia, this mermaid instantly swam into our hearts and has been a true angel to work with. She’s the President of her Pi Phi chapter with a deep love and appreciation for sisterhood. We’re lucky to have this Mermaid at Heart apart of our family. Meet the wonderful Mija Maslar.

Q. What’s your major?

A. My major is in journalism with an emphasis in broadcast and a minor in justice studies. My goal is to become a news anchor someday on a major news network! I have an internship with CW6 next semester, so I’m really excited to see the in’s and outs of everything.
When I was younger, I dreamed of becoming a back-up dancer for Britney Spears. The older I get, the less likely that seems…

Q. What leadership positions have you held in your chapter?

I’ve been our Vice President of Administration (Risk manager) and Chapter President of ASU Pi Phi. It was time consuming and stressful at times combined with my schoolwork, but I wouldn’t have traded these experiences for anything else! Leading these girls has truly turned me into the leader I’ve always wanted to be.

Q. What does sisterhood mean to you?

A. Sisterhood means having genuine friends who will always build you up and back you up.

Q. What have been some of your favorite memories with your sisters?

My favorite memories in college are the trips and vacations I’ve went on during breaks with my best friends. A couple of my favorites have been fall break with my best friend and little last year, and a weekend girls trip to Sedona this past week! I’m big on girl-time, so you can always find me planning somewhere new to adventure. 🙂

Q. Have you studied abroad or traveled while you’ve been in college?

A. I’ve never studied abroad, but I have traveled to Europe every summer. I’m originally from western Europe (Croatia), so I visit my family every summer. The past two summers, we’ve had the opportunity to see Italy, Greece and Croatia before going to visit my family and it was BEAUTIFUL! I would recommend a Europe trip to anyone considering it. It’s eye-opening seeing the way different cultures are.

Q. What attracted you most to Ali & Ariel?

A. The brand! I love how unique everything is, and the merchandise is adorable! Who doesn’t want to be a mermaid?

Q. What is your best piece of advice for young women?

A. Stay true to yourself. Always make the choices that are right for you, and never let anyone else influence your life decisions.

Q. What is your number one beauty staple?

A. Matte lip kits… I’m really into the matte lip colors right now!!
